    Couples seeking a cozy retreat

The staff were unbelievably cute and kind, treating us like family right from check-in. The food was out of this world! I remember savoring a pulled pork pie, the kind of dish that sticks in your memory long after you've finished it.

It wasn't exactly budget-friendly but honestly, worth every penny.

    charming atmosphere

    Charming, Charming, Charming

I was captivated by the historical details like the old beams and listed staircases that brought a unique charm to the space. The beer garden was a perfect spot to unwind, especially with live music creating such a lively atmosphere. The venison and stilton pie was, hands down, one of the best I’ve ever tasted!

We enjoyed our time in the cozy garden with our drinks and took full advantage of the relaxing TV lounge. The only minor hiccup was the noise from above in the kitchen during the early morning, but it didn’t ruin our experience at all! 😊

    amazing beer garden
    friendly staff
    huge food portions
    lack of clear service

Had an awesome group trip. We explored the haunted castle nearby and enjoyed some outdoor film screenings. The beer garden is amazing, and the staff are super friendly. The food portions are huge, and I loved the venison pie. Perfect spot for friends and good times!

One downside was the lack of clear service. we felt a bit ignored at times while dining, especially when we saw others being offered better tables.

    Perfect stay for dog lovers!

We had a delightful one-night stay in a dog-friendly room that was cozy and clean, and I loved the homemade steak & mushroom pie for dinner. The beer garden was perfect for relaxing, and the staff were genuinely welcoming to our pets, even treating them to sausages at breakfast! it would be helpful if reservations included information about availability for dinner on arrival.

We enjoyed 2 nights in a super cozy double room. The views were stunning and our dog loved the treat from the staff! Breakfast was a treat, though it was a bummer that dinner wasn't available on arrival. The place overall was chill and welcoming! Just wish the dining room carpet was cleaner.
